Concepcion Chile

Concepcion is the second largest city in Chile after Santiago. Concepcion is surrounded by the Bio Bio River, the widest in Chile, a cold rainforest and the Pacific Ocean, which gives it a mild and nice summer climate in an evergreen environment. One of the most distinctive sights of Concepcion, the arch on Chacabuco Avenue, containing part of the Medical Science school of Universidad de Concepcion, is a national monument as well, and is one of the official entrances to the university campus. Founded in 1917, the Universidad de Concepcion is the third largest and older university in Chile. The campus itself is open and built amid gardens, shaded pathways, forested hills and ponds and is a popular and pleasant weekend walk. Visit the Pinacoteca, at the University of Concepcion's art gallery, there you’ll be able to admire the Presencia de América Latina fresco by Jorge González Camarena. At the naval base in Talcahuano, you can visit the Huascar ship, a symbol of Chilean national pride and is the oldest floating historical relic in the world. Concepción is a busy industrial city with a lively cultural life. And beautiful surroundings. You can go hiking in the national parks that are nearby or travel along the beautiful coast, stop and explore the beaches.
